My horn problem

Good evening! Was riding down the road the other day when my horn started to blast full time, not intermittent. Managed to get to a side street and open the hood. Checked the fuse and the relay and they're fully functioning. Disconnected the horns below the battery tray. Whole event lasted approx. 8 minutes. Horns are very loud. Made it home and checked and I was still getting voltage to the disconnected horn lines with the truck turned off. Removed the relay to save battery power. Everything I've read regarding this issue is 1. either a short in the steering column, 2. the clock spring took a sh dive or 3. bad horn button(s). Don't think its the clock spring as everything I've read states that the horn would not function. Have not removed the steering column shroud to check the wiring or possible grounding issues. Will be removing air bag portion to check horn buttons. What say you, if anything? thanks 1995 f150, 5.8L, E4OD, 4x4 long bed XLT.

I vote steering column/horn pad issues.

Thanks for the reply. Will start with air bag pack removal to check horn switches.
