1995 E150 crank no spark
My question is, am I correct that to change the distributor, I'll have to remove all the plumbing under the hood, in order to gain access?
Thanks for anything you have as advice.
Frank
Last time I set engine timeing thats all I removed, but I did not actually remove the distributor and not sure if it will clear the body, although I dont remember ever reading of having to pull the engine just to remove the distributor.
To change out the PIP sensor you will have to remove the distributor and press off the gear or take it to a machine shop. Most people just install a whole new distributor but the new distributors (and alot of other parts) for our age of vans are pretty much junk.

You may want to consider installing a new ICM at the same time, its not that difficult and not much expense.
And dont forget to unplug the spout connector by the battery when setting the timing.
I got brave this morning and started removing the air intake assemblies and hoses.
The distributor is now exposed and I have a strategy for removal.
Really having difficulty locating the crankshaft vibration dampner and markings for setting TDC.
I'll use the compression to blow my finger from cylinder #1 to get me in ball park.
Should be easier to spot the timing marks that way.
With any luck, I'll have the old distributor out tomorrow, and shop for a new one.
