ECM expert advice needed HELP !!
so i pulled the computer out today and i believe to have the wrong computer. not only that there is a jumper ran across it to which i have no clue what its for
the truck runs okay i guess but no matter what always runs rich injectors have been changed 2 new fuel tanks and 2 new fuel pumps new fpr etc. there is almost always a miss at idle. new pickup new coil plugs wires icm etc the trottle never knows where to idle itll start and idle down sometimes around 500 - 600 according to my tac. some days if it sits itll start and rev up to 1500 then drop to 400 back to 1000 then back to 1500. if i drive it around the block it goes back to behaving "normal" tps and iac aswell as throttlebody have been replaced. intake gasket was done and there are no vacuum leaks.
im trying to find any computer that should work with this combo i would love to have the factory one for it but i have no clue how to obtain this info. please if anyone can help i would love it
i love this old truck and i will not get rid of it
Help me fix this old girl

It should be something like F1TE, or F2TE-12A650-(2 or 3 letters, like AA, AB, etc)
12A650 being the "part number" for ECM & everything else a form of identifier & revision level.
For an exact replacement, you need the info on the calibration label shown at far left here:
We have a member here who can tell what exact computer would go in your truck.
However, any 92 5.8/E4OD computer will run your truck quite adequately.
The jumper wire is standard repair, some came out of the factory that way.
Hang on to your money, check for codes, even if CEL(check engine light), isnt on, could have stored codes, see links below, how to check.

you can test your TPS, and IAC to make sure they are within range, especially if they arent motorcraft, some have been bad right out of box.

What do your capacitors look like on ECM, some time they are easy to spot if bad.
some you have to look twice

My codes were. 171 173 179 628
I don't know why it's throwing 628 because the tq never slipps
When it started slipping in any situation, (Zero trans codes) I rebuilt it. Worse when re-installed. Then I found leaky capacitors. Eventually needed a PSOM as well.

Chances are, it's for an E4OD, but nothing is certain. (AODE not an option)
Could you shoot a pic from the top showing where the connector passes through the case?

Some auto part stores and salvage yards use this number.
The F2TZ is the Ford part number for the part.
Ford does not put a part number on any parts after 1955.
Use this number when part is serviced at a Ford dealer.
That it was manufactured for replacement & not the first run of parts used to build the vehicle.
If you see for instance a Z in the part # description of a Cardone, or other reman company computer, you know it did not start life in a truck/car & started life on a parts shelf, was put in service, failed & has now been rebuilt/repaired.
There just are not any "new" computers for this generation.
