hey Travis, this truck looks awesome! I agree, I think this is one of those trucks you just don't repaint. What an amazing color and aged look. Might I suggest flat clear?

yes, the ´56 272 was yellow with argent silver valve covers

That’s my ´56 with 272. The decals are not original, the valve covers came without any decals

What a gorgeous motor. Wow. Love it. Still deciding on whether or not to paint motor yellow.
Also Yes to last reply on body, I want to do a clear coat but will need assistance on what to tell the paint man here. I want it to last and keep the under patina solid and rust free.

Nice bigwin! I have two oil bath's, one looks to be original and one been repainted. I have orig carb and a new one came with it. I will be looking at your photos to match wiring/springs/connections later when motor goes in. Thanks for the help. I may take some more picts tonight and post if anyone is interested.

congratulations on your wife's find.she has a good eye.if it was not for her you would still be looking.that is a great truck and it has the big back window too.keep the pictures and the updates coming.
