Question about the A EGR temperature sensor. I was going through the temperature and pressure PIDs and noticed that the A sensor for the EGR was reading 140f. Engine cold and all of the other engine and exhaust temps reading in the 77 ~ 79f range. EGR B was reading 77. I found this a little odd and was wondering if anyone knew if their is a minimum setting for the A EGR sensor? I have not noticed this in the past. As best as I could tell the reading while driving is in the normal range while at freeway speeds. Around 650 to 700f fairly flat and with cruise on. I have noticed the last month or so that between my regens have dropped to around 100 to 150 miles. Previously was around 230 to 260 miles. This is my daily driver and most miles on it are freeway. Truck is an 08 with 156K miles on it. Anyone have any ideas about why this sensor would be ready higher that the rest while the engine is cold?

The EGR A temperature sensor is located in the right side up pipe connecting the exhaust manifold to the turbo. Any time the engine is running this sensor sees heat. If I’m not mistaken, cold engine KOEO it would read 92. Then as soon as the engine is started it will typically climb up to 200-250 shortly.
Thank you for the reply 73fan, so the sensor has a bias that elevates it to a baseline temp? Meaning, higher than ambient as I state all of the the other temp sensor were reading close to ambient temperature at the time. Except EGRT A sensor that was reading 140 F. Sensor A reads 140 F no matter what the outside temperatures are reading while the engine is off and cooled off. Just trying to figure out if the sensor is failing or there is another potential issue, or no issue at all.
I would be inclined to blame the sensor. Especially given that it changes as temperature increases, such as running the engine. That would indicate correct operation of wiring.
An update. So I replaced the sensor and it appears that the baseline temperature is 140 degrees. I could not find any references or documentation to this, but this is what I have. No issues with the temperature of this or any of the others engine sensors when the truck is running.
