I was about to order the 2wd valance and decided to see what it would look like if I just trimmed the one one there a bit. I think it came out pretty good. Measure twice, and a third and forth time, and cut once. Masked off the line and used a jigsaw. A couple of wavy spots I noticed after the picture where my hand wasn’t too steady were easily taken care of with a sanding block. I’ve just always thought the valance was way too big.
Looks good. How many inches did you take off? I need to hack mine too. When I try to roll under there on a creeper, my belly..err....I mean my chest, is too big to fit under that thing!

i basically cut it right above the curved part all the way around. I measured at various points from the bumper down to ensure an even cut. It’s shorter on the ends than the middle. If you want the measurements I can get them tomorrow.

I left it on because I used the distance from the bumper down to make the line to cut. And I figured it would try to flex around more off the truck while cutting. After I cut it about 1/4 of the way I put tape on it to hold it up, and again at 1/2 & 3/4 because I was worried that it would crack if it was hanging while I cut it.

I did. The jigsaw blade would have hit it. If a Prius finds its way under there it’s gonna be a bad day for everyone, regardless of if those little brackets were there or not. I also zip tied the wiring harness up a bit to make sure it was out of the way.

As the owner of two Priuses, I'm terrified of all these modified valance trucks running around without Prius catchers!!!!
