EBPSensor Relocate?

Been doing a lot of reading on the EBP system. My plan is to eliminate as much as possible related to this system. This means Im getting the non-EBPV pedestal and outlet housing that Garrett offers. However, it seems as though the consensus is to retain the EBPSensor because the PCM and some tuners use this reading for fuel mapping.

This means that I wont be deleting the EBPS, faking the EBPS signal, leaving it open to atmosphere, capping the sensor or running a dummy load on the sensor.

That being said, I definitely want to eliminate the EBPS tube that the sensor attaches to which means I need to relocate the sensor. The constant clogging of the tube that necessitates cleaning is a chore I would like to at least minimize if not eliminate altogether, if possible. Im after as much of a MPG increase as I can get and the gradual reduction of MPG by way of a slowly clogging EBPS tube is inefficient.

Ive only found one mention on all the interwebs about relocating the sensor to another position in the exhaust stream with no real good responses in the discussion.

I was thinking about maybe relocating the sensor to one of the exhaust up-pipes or the turbo(exhaust turbine) Y-adapter by welding-in a threaded bung.
  1. Is this a bad idea?
  2. Will the temperatures be too hot for the sensor in this location? Did Ford locate the sensor on a sensor tube to move it away from the heat of the exhaust or simply for ease of access for eventual replacement of a faulty sensor?
  3. Will the sensor be more likely to get clogged with soot in the proposed position of the up-pipe/y-adapter than at the end of the factory EBPS tube? Im wondering if the combination of the EBPS being that close to the exhaust ports and the circuitous path and tight bends of the EBPS tube is what causes or contributes to the clogging.
  4. For people that have cleaned their EBPS tube, where in the tube has most of the clogging been? Or was the clogging pretty evenly distributed throughout the length of the tube?
  5. Will I not get the same backpressure reading from the proposed up-pipe/y-adapter location as I would from the factory location? Would the difference, if any, be inconsequential?
I realize this may end up being one of those, youll-know-it-when-you-try-it situations but I was hoping someone out there has already tried this and can lend me some advice.
