Just wanted to drop a note and say hi. Been driving F150's for about 25 years along with other toys in the mix. Currently have a 19 F150 Lariat Supercrew with the 3.5 ecoboost. Stopped by the dealer I've been using for 20 years yesterday and submitted my build for a 2020 F350 Lariat Crew 4x4. It was their last allocation for builds and in just before cut off. Got the email today that it is scheduled for an October build. Can't wait for it to get here and use it for towing next season.
We've had our 2020 F-350 6.7L Powerstroke crew cab regular bed XLT FX4 for a month now, 650 miles. I absolutely love it and every day am amazed at what an awesome truck it is. I'm getting 16-17 mpg around town and back road trips. Coming from a 2008 F-150 regular cab.
I've been a senior member on a different F150 forum since 2003 and looking forward to learning from the folks here and contributing as I can. My current truck with the 3.5 has plenty of power to pull our 29' travel trailer, but the suspension, running gear, brakes and weight are missing. I have upgraded rear shocks to the Billy 5100's, added air bags with remote, tow mirrors and upgraded to E rated tires. It works, but would rather something built to tow. Ford really left a lot on the table with the "Max Tow" package on the 150's - no tow mirrors included, standard load rated passenger tires and still just a soft 3-pack rear leaf.....
Since this is my daily driver and I won't be using it as a work truck and towing all the time, I went with the short box and the new 7.3 motor. I am hoping that the 10-speed tranny is as much of an upgrade as it was for the 150's, it is a night and day difference compared to the old tranny. The 6.7 diesel would be nice, but I know how to work on gas motors and couldn't justify the extra $9k over the 7.3.
