I have a 1977 Ford F-250 custom I recently bought a painless wiring harness for my truck and awhile I was wiring I ran into hazard switch wires and the instructions said not in column so idk where I can find one because all I find are the hazards in the column? And my other question is I have wires for a cargo switch but my truck never had one when I bought so I’m confused on that as well thank you!
Is there a hole in the driver side B-pillar for the switch?
Sounds like an early bumpside wiring kit - didn't those have the hazard switch not on the column?
on the instructions it has a 1977 hazard switch wire diagram like where to connect the wires and yes there are two holes on each pillar but there’s a extra wire for a actual switch for the dash I know the 60s ford trucks had a cargo light switch on the dash I didn’t know if my truck had one to
The hazard light switch is a separate circuit all to it's own It consists of a power feed, ground and two feeds that tie into the light circuit that feed the blinkers. It's that simple.
Yes the interior "dome" light is controlled by the headlight switch. Some of these trucks have a seperate cargo light switch in the B pillar. It turns on a back of the cab mounted "bed/cargo" light. 73-77 bigger light glass lens, 78/79 smaller light and plastic lens. The OEM switch is cheap and breaks easy.

1973 and later: The 4 way flasher (hazard) switch is made as part of the turn signal switch. Its button protrudes from the right side of the steering column below the wheel.
1970/72 F100/350 switch is located on the dash, to the right of the steering column below the instrument cluster.
1967/69 F100/350 switch is located on the inside of the glove box.

The cargo lamp was introduced in 1967. It was an extra cost option, so many trucks do not have it.
The bezel, lens and body are the same as the 1964/65 Thunderbird backup lamp!
