Two weeks into this adventure and the tension is mounting. I now have my very own VIN and an ETA for my new truck.
Another three weeks now.
I'm begining to fantasize that I can inhale the fragrance of that new leather and caress the softness of it's curves and folds - relish in the reflection of my image in it's shiny new paint and then......and then.....cough up a bundle for insurance
Reality smacked me in the forehead this afternoon when I got my first quote off line for insuraning this guy. $480 every 6 months. Guess I'll keep looking around.
BTW, the 8th character in the VIN is suppose to be cylinders and displacement but "P" isn't one of the options on the decyphering string at the to of the page here. I'm only guessing but my "P" must stand for the 6.0L diesel.
well, maybe. But I found out from my insurance company that if I don't insure both vehicles (2 car coverage) the insurance on the other car goes up 25%. They quoted me $716/year on the new truck too, which is a much better deal than 480 X 6 mo's. I stull have time and will continue to look around.

OUCH!! Why is insurance so high up there in the NE, almost a thousand dollars a year in Maine,NH, thats outrageous! I live 100 miles east of chicago in Indiana and my cost per 6 mo is $264.00 for full coverage, $100.00 deductable,(truck is in sig) and I thought that was a ripoff! Not sure if I can put Ins. Co. name in post? I would look some more for a better price!

My 2001 f350 4x4 7.3L cc runs me $ 602.00 per year.
Thats with full coverage, rental, & towing with a local firm.
My age is 29 years old & with a clean record.I live in southern Indiana.
However I did have a quote last week from the company that is like a good neighbor & they quoted dead nuts off of my current plan & came up with $ 1370.00 per year. Talk about ouch!!!!!
Go with a smaller insurance provider & not a large chain.
Just think about hurricanes, tropical storms, hail, tornado & constant flooding & fires. If you are part of a large insurance company & they have to foot the bill on all of this across the country every year, they will spread it out to everyone, even if you don't even live there.
2000, Crew, 4x4. Not a blemish on my driving history... $658.00/6mo's. I live in New Mexico, the #2 most corrupt state.. But at least were trying to be the best at something.
From: I'm lost somewhere in NJ -- can someone please find me?!?!?!?
None of you can even begin to speak about the gripes of vehicle insurance until you live in the state of NJ. 4 cars registered in the family (thus multi-vehicle discount) and I'm still at $2,000 with a spotless driving history.
