Not sure what to tell you, as there are several fleet sources that appear to confirm it opened 8/10 and coincides with the date on the 2021 Superduty order guide. There are definitely some fleets however that that still show orders opening up today, 8/17. I will say that several on our F450 FB page confirmed their 2021 orders were taken last week.

You don't get a VIN when you order it, the VIN isn't produced until Ford picks up the order, which can take weeks. I ordered a 2021 F600 today, dealer sent me the order confirmation, and said we probably won't have a VIN for a month, they won't start building the 2021's until October/November, we're hoping for delivery in January, February at the latest.

As I mentioned in my previous post, my Fleet manager has already placed an order for me. I don’t think you are getting accurate information.
