Hello everyone! My dad is in the nursing home now and he has decided it is time to sell some stuff. The truck is currently sitting in his backyard where it has sat for at least 20 years. He tells me it is 1969 F100 camper special with a 1970 390 motor, power steering and power brakes. Dad also tells me it has duel exhaust glass packs. There is no title for the truck itself but I do believe we have a title to the 1970 the motor, power steering, and power brakes came out of. I know absolutely nothing else about this truck. I have no idea when it was last moved or when it was last started. The odometer reads 79,183 miles but I don't know how to determine if that is actual miles or not. I've had a few people contact me about purchasing it and I've searched and searched and have no idea if it is worth anything more than scrap price. I know it is in really rough shape but I just want to make sure we don't sell it for less than we should as any money made will help pay for his funeral expenses coming up in the near future. Thank you so much for any help or information you can give me!
Very sorry that your father will be moving on. It is a sad time, hope he is peaceful and comfortable.
I think the truck is a ‘67 F100, the grille and the hood emblem and the inside rearview mirror are from the 1967 year only.
The prices for these trucks have gone up. If you can secure a replacement title, you’re probably looking at around $1000.
If you do a pencil tracing of the door tag (on a piece of paper with the side of a pencil lead). Take it along with your dads information (drivers license would be helpful), to the state Department of Motor Vehicles, they may be able to issue a copy of the title.
Just like the previous responders stated, your truck is a 1967 F100, with a 352 engine. It was built in Kansas City and ordered by the Omaha, Neb field office.
Hope this helps you. I also hope your Dad is peaceful and comfortable.
You sure it's a 69? The grill looks like a 67 and it has no rear or side reflectors.
Dashboard, heater, grille and hood, quarter panels (bed sides) are 1967 only. Right door has a lock ****, so it's from a 1968/72.
You cannot use the VIN on the Warranty Plate to register this truck, because...
Warranty Plate on left door decodes to a 1971 F100 Sport Custom w/a 360/C6, so the door has been replaced, because the 1967 only heater, painted '67 grille and lack of windshield mouldings says it's a Standard Cab.
1967's have the Camper Special nameplates on the cowl panels, I don't see any evidence they were ever there, so it's not a Camper Special.
1967: You push the inside door handles forward to lock the doors. 1968/72's have door lock *****.
Besides the other 1967 only parts, 1967's have a ONE YEAR ONLY dash, radio and heater.
I yield to ND, he's right on the door tag. Door has to be from a '71. You're going to have to find the VIN number on the top of the passenger side frame rail, under the alternator. May have to scrape the dirt off to see it.
With all of the info you have now, it is worth what somebody will pay you for it. The going rate for a truck in that shape is about $500 to $1000 depending on the area. You being in Iowa maybe in the middle?
Thank you for the responses, everyone. Dad's mind isn't what it used to be which is why I decided to reach out to others who may know more about this truck. I figured it wasn't worth much more than the $500 - $800 I'd been offered but wanted to be sure before letting it go. I sincerely appreciate the responses and well wishes for my dad. Thank you.
