Looking to put electric windows in my 1949 F1 what kit is best please seen at least three different types of kit available
please help this is a mine field , do i keep the original regulator and add a electric winder , would this be hidden as it seems to fit over the front of the spline shaft , has any one done one on a 49 thanks
I had looked at the add on winders but decided it was a poor idea and very cheaply made . Nu relics seems to be the premier setup for easy install but not cheap . I am using a universal kit that will definitely need more building .
I believe the winders might be the old external box type things that mounted on the door panels and actually turned the shaft that the original handle went on. They were bulky and butt ugly, could be hidden under upholstered door panels I suppose. I think they should be a last resort. Personally, I would rather have manual windows than them. My .02 worth, your mileage may differ.
