Adaptive cruise/Pre collision assist failure
Hello everyone----
Quick rundown first---I was in a small accident (20Mph) and then this problem started after that---Nothing major just right front fender and right side bumper messed up (The bodyshop replaced the fender/Hood/Grill/ and bumper)
I have a 2019 Limited (6500 miles) and the adaptive cruise has been acting up for a few weeks now--While engaged it will work for 10-20 minutes, maybe even longer at times and then disengages and I get these 2 warnings
1. Adaptive cruise not available, sensor blocked see manual----
2. Pre-collision assist not available, sensor blocked
So I scan for codes and its C001--Vision System Camera, I take it to ford and get a call and they said the sensor was Dirty with debris (top middle windshield above mirror) Im like sure, and that they tested it and works Ok now, Anyway I get it back and within 15 minutes Guess what same message-CRAP!
So now per FORD they want to replace my windshield Im not liking that idea at all? So Im thinking after some more investigating this is they removed and replaced my bumper and had to remove the Front Collision sensor thats on the drivers side bumper under the Black plastic cap (nothing damaged in wreck) What are the odds they did not get the sensor aligned correctly or its Loose and causing this issue? Has anyone taken that black cover off before, I may try to just to check the sensor---I will def tell ford about this before they replace my W/S this week, which Im 99.9% will NOT fix this problem!
Sorry for the long winded first post lol----
