I just picked up a 94 F150 extended cab w/ 351 and e4od trans.
I plan on completely going though this truck to make it good as new. (maybe a little better than new)
I've never done a full exhaust before, but I've done portions through the years.
I just picked up a set of JBA shorty stainless headers for this truck and it's got me thinking I should just do the whole thing. Previous owner did Cat Back with some cheap stuff, and I am thinking I will just do it all in stainless.
The only Stainless Y pipe I'm seeing is the Magnaflow. I'm assuming the cat that comes with this is a high flow cat.
Are there other/better options out there?
Should I just go to an exhaust shop and have them fab something up from the headers back?
Anyone have experience with the magnaflows? The reviews on Amazon are a little mixed as to fitment.
Any aftermarket cat you can buy is "high flow" compared to the factory pieces and Magnaflow has been good for me in terms of cats and mufflers. I doubt a muffler shop will do a better job and they probably won't use stainless tube.
You can get a stainless Y pipe from Bassani as well, with or without cat, and JBA makes a stainless after cat kit for the remainder.
These are the parts I used. My Y pipe had to have the driver side pipe adjusted slightly, which I have heard another user had the same experience. I had a shop install everything.
I am happy with my setup. It is louder than stock for sure, but it is not obnoxious. No problem carrying on a conversation at interstate speeds.
Thanks for all the replies!!! That clarifies things a bit.
I looked at the Bassani also.....It seems most sites that carry it are a little light on information. I do know that they are well regarded. Price point seems a little lopsided though seeing that I can get the manaflow for the same price with the cat.
I don't really care if it has a cat or not as I'm registering it as an antique next year and it will definitely never be my daily driver.
I'm assuming both he Bassani and the magnaflow have a welded in bung for the o2 sensor in the Y pipe.....correct?

I really enjoy the sound of my 302 with the american thunder duel exit cat back from flow master. And I've been looking into jba shorty headers. Its next on the list after I find the right replacement built transmission
