Where are you guys mounting your tachs?

I have a 2" 0-4000 r/m VDO style tach in a cup mounted on the steering column.

Does that cup come apart to mount the tach? My tach mounts with a bracket behind it.

This cup came with the tach. It is separate from the tach itself. Companies like autometer should sell chrome cups like this.

Summit Racing has tach mounts like that, fairly easy to find if your tach didn't come with one.

I have mine here. It's an older military unit that didn't fit any modern mounting cups, so I had to get creative. Also didn't want to drill my dash. Can see it clear as day when I'm driving, too.
