I've gotten all of the interior out of my crew cab prepping to put down a thermal and sound barrier and I noticed two valves in the rear of the cab for cab ventilation. These valves are behind a fiber cover that covers the back wall. My question is if the fiber cover impeads air flow and could I remove the portions of the cover that are over the valves and then perhaps put screening material over the openings for asthetics and improve flow-through air in the cab?

Those vents aren't really for airflow, they are just there to equalize pressure in the cab. For example when you shut the door with the windows up. The positive air pressure built up will vent out so the door shuts easier. Another thing is when you roll up the windows or switch from max to normal ac, there's a pressure buildup. On my 16 I put 2 10" subs behind the rear seat and blocked off the left vent with a metal plate because it was hitting the sub box. Now when I switch from max to normal or roll up all 4 windows while moving so they all hit the top at once your ears will pop like in an airplane. It didn't do that when I had 2 vents.
