Fuel line removal question

This is the line rail and connection on the passenger side of the 460. The one on the driver side had a flex hose on one side and was easy to remove. The side in the picture has a hard line on both sides and I am not sure about removing it as nothing flexes where the disconnect is. What is the way to properly remove this line and which side does the removal tool go into since I can't see back there. Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions. Sandy

I'm not familiar with the 460, but I would think that you would have to loosen the fuel rail to move it away from the hard line. The hard line may be bolted to the block in the back. You may be able to loosen it there to get enough play. The line removal tool inserts into the side with the spring. You can see the spring on the connector on the right. It looks like the tool would go into the right side of the connector in question.

Pretty sure all rail bracket bolts are off but I will check in the back part of the rail in the morning. Yes I removed the connector on the right but do you think the left ones spring is on the thin or thicker part or side of the rail? Thanks Sandy

Looking at it closer I think the tool would have to go in from the fuel rail side. But that is just my best guess. I hope someone who has done it pipes in.

I agree. It might move enough once the spring lock is released or as was stated there is a bracket by the bell housing or intake that is hiding.

I did not get it disconnected but I managed to raise the fuel rail enough to get the injectors out so I am good to pull the manifold when/If mine ever gets here. Thanks guys for the help. Sandy
