They were not as efficient as you might think or hope. Trucks came from all over to be converted by Crown. My Dad's own 1970 4x4 Crew Cab truck was special order purchased local here at Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent, WA but was built in Ontario, Canada and shipped from there to here. This was after Ford was making their own 4x4 trucks in house, but not every assembly plant made a crew cab even by then. Far from it as a matter of fact.
