Hello fellow FTE's, I was wondering if there is an easy way to reclock my steering wheel. I recently replaced my steering box with a Red Head box. That all went well except now the steering wheel is turned a little to the left when driving strait. My truck is a 1984 F250 2wd and it does not have the adjustable link between the pitman arm and the drag link, just a solid bar. Is pulling the steering wheel the best way or can that even work? Is there a way to take loose the top of the steering rod from the steering column under the hood and re clock that way? I've never had any of these things apart before so I don't know what has master splines and what doesn't. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!!

Not uncommon when swapping a steering box, the correct way to fix this is to centre the wheel is using the tie rod adjusting sleeves. You have a new box so time for an alignment anyway..

Unless like me you had the alignment done when new tires went on and then found the box to be bad
I went with a Blue Top and mine is a little to the right and I just live with it as I don't want to pay $80 again just to get the steering wheel straight as the toe should not have changed.

Thanks Matthew, that is what I needed to know. I have it scheduled for an alignment. I was just wondering if doing it that way would make it so it would turn shorter one way than the other, but I'm hoping that the alignment specialist will know how to correct that also. Thanks again!

Could ask them how they would adjust caster & camber if it was not in spec.?
They should come back with "you bend the beams" followed by "we don't do that", that is what my guy said when I asked that same question and I was cool with that if not to far out.

He may have ball joints. If he does, they can adjust it with the upper ball joint bushing.
