I'm interested on your feelings about the Edelbrock. I've heard a few people that have installed Snipers are not happy with them after the fact and they decide to go with EFI.
Truthfully, I would rather go with a carb because of the cost. As someone else said here, I would rather put the money elsewhere into the truck, but if EFI is the right thing to do, I'll consider it for the long haul.
Besides the fact that they are cluster to start with, the linkage geometry is never right and in many Ford applications, accelerator/kickdown linkage needs modification. The Holleys are literally a drop on bolt up and go. No to mention more reliable.

I've used different model Holley's, and Edelbrocks. I have no unfounded complaints about any of them. But I prefer the Edelbrocks, and especially the AVS2. in fact, since the AVS2 came out, it's the only Edelbrock I'd consider. I can always get an one dialed in better and more quickly than I can a Holley 4150 series. And I like the 4150's. The AVS2's annular discharge primaries are the kicker. They produce fantastic throttle response. That's the AVS2's feature I like most. I have A/FR, and vacuum gauges in my carbureted vehicles. For me, they're a must. I get better across the range A/FR's with the AVS2.
I know of no better intake manifold for 400 or 351M, than an Edelbrock Performer 400.
Eh depends on what you want, the Weiand is capable of making more power than either of the current Edelbrock intakes.
I guess the ideal intake for EFI on the 400 /351M would be one of the old single-plane Edelbrock Streetmasters, No longer made but can be found on the used market with some searching, and can be found quite reasonably priced seen more than a few priced for less than $100.
These are not a high HP single plane and have rather narrow ports but they have good runner velocity for a single plane and straight shots into the head that port EFI systems like. The other option is to run spacer plates and use a 351C single plane.
Everyone has their own take on carbs the annular on the Edelbrock is an advantage but this where the Summit M2008 really shines it is basically a bolt-on and go like the Holley and comes with annular boosters at all 4 corners. And it has a significant price advantage. The Summit carb is built by Holley for Summit and is a rework of the old Holley 4010 which in it's self was an updated Autolite 4100, The same engineers that designed the 4100 did the 4010. The 4100 was likely the best not to mention simplest 4BBL carb ever produced by anybody.
I have used 1406's on 400's and 460's and been happy with them. Nearly all my carb issues result from sitting too long without being driven. As good as the AVS2 sounds, I'm wondering if the multiple smaller fuel outlets would be more prone to issues from sitting?
