Gun-mounted pressure regulators?

I bought the wrong thing - I got a "flow" regulator... It does nothing for pressure. Hence the thread title - what is a usable low-cost PRESSURE regulator that is small enough I can use on a spray gun?

There is only 1 at harbor freight and it gets a lot of bad reviews about poor pressure regulation so I am not wanting to tempt fate following in the poor reviews' established foot steps. Link below for reference.

Is there something I can get locally (big box store) that will work better than the HF one? Or is it better to go with an online vendor that has quality stuff for cheaper?

I cant remember if I got mine from where I got the guns, Eastwood start line 3 HVLP gun kit or the local auto paint store?
I want to say the local auto paint store as I also upgraded the guns to use D-kup throw away cup liners for easy gun clean up.
I cant remember if they are by Sharpe, well known in auto air tools, or other? but they worked great on the guns when I painted my 81 F100 flare side.

See if you have a local auto body shop supply place. That is where I am buying my stuff from. Some automotive supply places have knowledgeable people as well, NAPA< Auto Zone, etc. Eastwood is good. Also look up auto body forums.

I'd go with a portable air filter/water trap and regulator near the work area, then just a pressure gauge on the spray gun.

then a T or manifold with a gauge and couplers so you can have a couple of air tools handy.

and then:

or

With my setup, the first filter caught all the water and I never needed to drain the regulator, but I wasn't painting with a full-size gun, just a touch-up or air brush.
