2020 Level

Where is the best place to measure a truck after a level to assure that it is completely level? I just put a kit on mine and feel that the rear may be a tad lower now, although it could be my imagination

Since presumably you added a level kit because you thought it looked better, it is right when your eyes say it's right.

It’s nose high to me.

I personally think that everyone that measures form the ground to the wheel arch is doing it wrong. The only thing that your eye picks up on is the fender gap from top of the tire to the wheel arch. I measure from the top of the tire to the peak of the wheel arch.

My 250 6.2 CCSB with heavy service front suspension had a difference of 2 inch in the wheel gap front to back. I put a 1 inch Daystar spacer in front and have a 1 inch difference now. I didn’t want perfectly level.

But I think a lot of guys doing 2.5” levels with either gas engines, or heavier springs, or both, will end up nose high.

Measuring to the top of the bed rails front and rear is probably the most accurate. Although I don’t see how one could get a pickup to always be level unless you a have air bags. My 2020 F350 seems to sag more under load than my 2016 F250 did. Both of those seem to sag more than my 1999 dodge did. I have pulled the same trailers with all three of them.

The problem I see is that the hood height is higher then the box rails. What I mean is that the hood line hits the cab about 2-3” higher then the top of the box line leaves the cab. So even if it’s level the front will look higher then the back. I’d personally measure the bottom line of the cab just behind the front wheels and just in front of the rear wheels from the ground up.

On level ground just measure the the highest point of fender, this isn’t rocket science.

with ford lowering the 2020’s I’m surprised people have to level them.

Level might look different to someone else. What bugs you about the level? Running boards catching your eye? Bed rails? Front to rear fender height? Find out what bugs you about the stance and measure accordingly.

For me true level looks saggy. I would aim for 1/2" rake as measured from fenders.

According to Ford's literature the majority of 2020s are lowered 1/2" in the front and 1" in the rear. It's only marginally (1/2") more level than 2019. My 2020 F350 had 3" rake as measured from the fenders. Still quite a ways off from level. Tremors are about the same. Just taller front and rear.

I’d like to see a comparison of equally suspended 2019 and 2020 fender heights.
