Has anyone had experience with a Lunati 20350611, in a 302? Or a 351W. I've never bought a Lunati camshaft. This is my first late model 302 build, and I was surprised at the narrow range of choices for Windsor roller camshafts. Most are high revving camshafts, that don't start making power until 2500 rpm. Camshafts that make torque right off idle is what I want. I'll never rev this engine above 4500. I talked with guys at Comp, Howards, Crane, Isky, Crower, Lunati, and Trick Flow. I settled on the Lunati camshaft. On paper, it appears to be exactly what I want. We'll see. I'll appreciate any shared experience from you guys.
You know I have a 73 Bronco Rail buggy with a 85 Mustang 302? The PO told me is has a Lunati cam in it and believe me it runs way better than the 302 in the other Bronco. This thing screams snap response power at low end (it has the OEM 3 speed and axle gearing). So much I have considered swapping motors if the 71 Bronco's motor ever goes down hard. Yes it is a blast, I am almost ready to have it road legal too.
I can try to reach out to the PO to get the cam # for you?
Yeah, I've seen pics of that buggy. What a blast it must be! My dad had a CJ3 chasis buggy with a 283 sbc, and plumbing pipe "roll cage". It was a riot!
Yes, please ask the PO if he knows the part number. But don't go to any trouble. By the grind specs, I know this is gonna be what I want. And the engine is going in something not dissimilar to your buggy...A Jeep.
As easy as an email to get the info, if he still has it or can contact the PPO to see if he has it. Yes it is a hoot to drive, I was looking for a side by side or dune buggy and ended up with that wild thing. I call it my Can-am/RZR killer. Lol
The brand of the cam is basically meaningless. the grind is what matters and most of them are generic grinds for any v8. spend a few extra bucks and buy a custom grind for your application.

Thanks. It never occurred to me to actually look at the camshaft specs. I just bought it cause the name sounds cool.
77&79F250, that buggy is just stupid awesome! And awesome is so much more gooder when "Stupid"! My friend has a 1980 Lincoln Versailles, that I'm buying the engine out of, to use for parts. We've both been semi-seriously toying with putting the body of that car on a modern 4x4 truck chassis. That would be "stupid awesome", just in a different category. It's such a dork mobile, but the car is fantastic shape.

I just laughed so hard that water came out my nose. I like Hooker headers too....obviously for the name. I hear ya! ROTFFLMFAO.
I have a 460 and some 44's for this project. Just need the time. Here is a funny back for ya. Mission brief last line says, "If you're going to f$%k this up, go big, because I don't want to limp away from this one".

I'm guilty there. I have Hooker headers on my Dent, and I love the decals so much, I've actually bought them online. I put them everywhere, except on the vehicles. Btw, what's a "cam card"? LMFAO!
I love your quote! Similar to something an old hard *** CSM said to us in Ranger school. CSM Don Purdy!
Stickers are worth .0000007% horse power if ON the vehicle. Here is one for your coat or hat. AKA "your cover" AKA "headgear". Don't forget-s about that special ed erl you need to run in dare. Da ZDDP stuff right?
That cam lets me turn the 33's and 37's no problem. And probably even these 38's.... if I put them on. It is a blast to drive with open headers and let the grandson throw candy out of it in a local parade.
Grandson and Miss Penny look to be having a good time.
Yeah, that camshaft is probably the same grind or very close to the one I've got en route. I suspect this engine will produce a very honest 360 ft lbs. Plenty of umpf for a 3500 lb vehicle. About all a stock AX15 and Dana 30 & 35 can handle.
I emailed the PO this am to see if he has/had the cam sheet/part # ect...While reading some old email traffic back when we made the deal, I was reminded of all kind of good facts like. 85 Mustang motor....."The engine had less than 25,000 miles on it. It has a new cam, lifters, and timing chain. The intake was placed on it and a 2 barrel carb specially built". See the speedo on 60.... and I had lots of skinny pedal left.
I know is has a nice idle and a small cam lope, and lots of low end torque/throttle response. Brings a grin to my face every time I drive it.

This is a mild cam with good manners, matches your criteria, and it will probably make you have the same size smile as 77&79F250.
