hey I have an 91 f150 that will get to about 45 and everything boggs down bad almost like its not breathing right cleaned the throttle body mass airflow and all replaced the air filter and since I was there replaced the alternator since the charge was weak was wondering if its in my exhaust anything helps
Ill start off by saying im not a efi guy but ill try to help. Did this start suddenly or what? Several things come mind. Injectors or timing could be a cause. Does it sound like its missing? What exactly are your symptoms and how did it start.
its done it since I got it it seems to only do it in the heat in the mornings its fine the same drive in the afternoon it starts
it don't sound like it's missing
for a bit it was surging but I cleaned the injectors and everything leading to it and around
it kinda sounds like its not breathing well
oh I do get a check engine light on randomly but it go's away and I can't read the codes cause I can't find the single wire that plugs into the harness
Sounds like youve done everthing id have done. If there was a way to retrieve those codes that would probably get you somewhere. Makes me wander if the computer is messing up. I wouldnt know. Hope someone smarter comes along soon for you. Good luck!
ok so I had a friend of mine try to pull the codes it was showing none still never found the single wire he said it may be timing so we adjusted the timing the truck runs perfect until it gets to 65 now it seems to not want to shift right will timing cause this or do i have a bigger problem
