have an AOD conversion question
Hi ya'all, just picked up a 76 F250 Super cab with a 390 and bum C-6 trans. My plan is to pull the current motor/ trans and replace it with a 351W and hopefully an AOD. I have an AOD, and a small block C-6 trans, but would rather use the AODto improve my mileage. Here's the question... How would I hook up the tans to the shift linkage, and are there any other tricks to installing the AOD in early trucks. I have done swap like this in the past with c4 and c6 trannies, but never messed with an AOD. This truck will be used primarily for hauling my wife's drag car, and for family cruising around the state. Thanks for the help....

AOD ???
Right, I know it won't fit a 390, that's why I stated I am pulling the 390 in favor of a 351W. I would rather have the 351W for many reasons.... I have a few laying around, I have a butt load of parts for them, and there is the possibility of putting the AOD behind it.
