I took my truck to Ford in December of 2019 because I had the death wobble. This was before the TSB outlining the fix was published by Ford. They tested the damper which failed. It was replaced with the damper mentioned in the TSB. I took my truck In last week for a few warranty repairs and had the verify the damper was in fact the upgraded damper and to do the caster/camber adjustment mentioned in the TSB. When I got the truck back the paperwork indicated that they test drove the vehicle, all was well and therefore no work was done.
i just got got off the phone with my service advisor and asked why they did not adjust the camber and caster. He said I was not having a problem and Ford would not authorize the repair if the damper fixed the problem. I said the TSB clearly shows (step 7) for customers that have had the problem to adjust the caster/camber after replacing the damper.
Who Is right? Has anyone else had pushback on adjusting the caster/camber? I think I am done buying Fords!

Have you had DW since they replaced the damper in Dec.?
I think the service advisor is right. The TSB has them pull the stabilizer to see if it has any lash/lag. If yes, they were to replace the stabilizer with the new version and be done. If no, they were put the stabilizer back on and then proceed to adjust the caster. The fix was either one or the other but not both. At least that’s the way I read it.
The only TSB that I know of that speaks to alignment has expired ... was only good for trucks built through Dec 2018, I believe. The only thing for trucks built after that is just swapping out the stabilizer. Rinse and repeat. General warranty will cover alignment for 12,000 miles, I believe. So, if your service department decides that alignment is the way to go, it's either within warranty or it's on you. Unless there's a new FSB out that I don't know about (which is HIGHLY likely), then Ford no longer covers the DW fix via alignment. Ford did the old "I'm not fixing the problem, but I'm going to stop solving the symptoms, too" routine. It's a good gig if you can get away with it.
If there's a new TSB that brings back the old alignment fix, I'd really like the reference. Thanks.

TSB's #18-2268 which is specific to the death wobble.

Dang. I was hoping there was a new one. That one doesn't apply to very many vehicles anymore. In the TSB summary, you'll find this passage: "Some 2017-2019 f-250/f-350 4wd vehicles built on or before 31-jul-2018 [...]"
So, it really only applies to 2017-2018 Super Dutys and very early 2019 builds. Did Ford fix the issue between 2018 and 2019? Nope. No fix on the manufacturing side ... Ford just removed the fix on the service side. Hopefully, your truck fits into that window because, from what I've seen, the only fix is to adjust the alignment described in that TSB.
I got Ford to cover most of the service charge, but only through blood, sweat, and tears. It's by exception only.
