Help in verifying Options packages

I'm putting together my build sheet. I wanted the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assist™. I really just wanted the cameras. Dealer is now telling me that in order to get this option I must also get the High Tow Capacity Option for $1,025 more? The build your own Ford website shows these as two separate options. Can anyone confirm if this has changed? That you can no longer just get the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System.. Thanks!

On my F250 Lariat 7.3L gas, I got the UTCC (for the cameras, mostly) WITHOUT the High Tow capacity, which requires a 6.7L.

What truck are you getting?

On the Ford F250 build page I see three options:
Trailer Tow Package - High Capacity $1130
F-250 Trailer Tow High Capacity w/Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System and Pro Trailer Backup Assist Package$2,730
Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ $1600

Dealers are notorious for not knowing what options can and can’t be ordered individually. Mine swore up and down that I couldn’t have skid plates without the FX4 package. Had to actually stand at his desk while he was clicking in the order to show him what I wanted! Send them your build sheet from the web and have them duplicate it. Maybe take them a dozen donuts so they can get a sugar rush and manage to get the order in without having to take a break in the middle!

Yes, please provide details on which truck you are building.

He's wrong. This would state if you needed other options.

Thanks. I'm building an F250 Lariat with the diesel. I sent him a PDF of my build sheet which shows the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assist™. He said it doesn't show on his build sheet. I sent him screen shots showing if I select the combined options I MUST remove the option I want and spend over a grand more for it. While typing this I just got this email.. " You are correct. I'm on the build site and it shows 2 separate options. I need to investigate this further because the spec sheet I sent you does not show the ultimate trailer tow option alone???" Hope he figures it out. I'm emailing with several dealerships and it's amazing how some just tack on stuff.. taxable fees, non tax fees, advertising and fuel fees... a couple grand more for STUFF other dealers don't charge for. Guess it pays to shop around.

Looks like he can pick code 53R for the UTTC alone. Since you are getting the diesel, are you sure you don't want the High Capacity towing also?

The F-250 Trailer Tow Package – High Capacity is optional on XL, XLT, and LARIAT F-250 models. Requires 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel engine and Trailer Brake Controller (TBC) (XL SRW)
Includes:
• Increased GCWR on diesel engine from 23,500 lbs. to 30,300 lbs.
• Upgraded axle

Fuel fee always shows in the invoice price as a separate line item.
Advertising fees often show on the invoice as required by a local dealer group.

Both are generally required to be on the invoice, but for negotiating, just ignore all the details and focus on the bottom line that includes all that.

I really don't need the high capacity towing. For the work I do I could get away with an F150. I currently drive a diesel suburban and I really like the low end torque which doesn't need much to get moving. With the gaser I feel like I have to ask for power, which it has no problem delivering.. with the diesel I feel you don't have to ask as much...

I asked him, So option 53R is not available? His response.. Yes, that is correct... He said he spoke to the dealership owner who confirmed it. Strange.. I really liked this dealership...

Just looked at my own order confirmation. Again, mine will be a 2020 F250 Lariat CCLB 4x4 7.3 Gas Ultimate package.

It shows "53R UTT CAM PTBA $1600 RETAIL, $1456 DLR INV"

I know that they have been having camera supplier issues. Maybe the system is not allowing any more orders for that? Oh wait, are they ordering you a 2020?

Yes.. they were pricing out a 2020. At this point I think I'll just wait and order a 2021. These end of model year orders can get screwed up.

I thought you couldn't order a 2020 anymore and the 2021's would be available in August.

IDK.. I sent my build to a few dealerships and they were all pricing out 2020 models.. At least none came back saying 2020's were closed to new orders..
