SP springs

Hello, I just purchased a f350 regular cab 4x4, with the 7.3 and 4.3 gears. Had to have it shipped to my location from several states away. Hard to get trucks right now. I plan to haul about 2400 lbs in the bed, 4-5 times a year...other than that, I tow some trailers that are in the 4-5000 range.

It came equipped w the snowplow prep/camper package for 245.00. A couple dealers told the trucks do ride somewhat rougher w the SP springs. not a lot rougher, but somewhat...whatever that means.
Searched and read a lot of posts on the pros and cons of this suspension upgrade, but I am considering switching the front coil springs back to the non-upgraded spring. From some of the posts I have read, the upgrade is about a 6000 lb set of coils, while the standard is somewhere around 5200 lbs. People claim the sp springs also raise the front by about 2 inches...is this true?....my truck does seem fairly level at this point...
The pn on my truck's spring tag: LALR060A. this is printed above the bar code label, which is a sticker on the front coil spring.
I called the dealer to c what the pn of a non-SP spring was, and all I got was "there are 14 pn's in the system and I have no idea which one u are looking for". Are there any master build sheets for suspensions from ford? showing what each spring set is used for?
Can somebody be of help, tell me the PN of a 2020 front coil spring on the f350? I would guess f250 and f350 front coil springs are the same. Springs are 250.00 and I can change them myself, so can always go back to the sp package if and when I want.
Thanks, Dave.

Just find a 2020 VIN to order with off a non snowplow truck. Ebay or whatever. Gawr should be on the drivers side door jamb and a lot of ebay dealers show that. So does Copart salvage auctions.

Once you have the part number you can double check. I think they are under $200 and i would also do some better performance shocks while in there.

What does tag on door say the front axle is rated for? I believe the rating is the spring rating...
the gurus will be along and give you the correct info.

Drivers side door jamb, white sticker. Heres mine, with SP pkg. 5990 for front springs.

I believe non plow springs are around 4000.

Have you driven it any yet? You might think it rides just fine without the need to swap springs...

Here is a copy of the door tag...shows front gawr of 5600 lbs. Is the spring pn as shown on the bottom right (5u5a -352....)? That is a different no than the barcode no, on the spring tag.

Mattm400, interesting to compare tags...u have front GAWR of 5990 lbs, using 20 inch wheels, at 60 psi. Mine is 5600 GAWR, with 18 inch wheels at 70 psi. the back GAWR is spec'd w 80 psi. wondering why they limited my front GAWR to 70 psi in the tires...max is 80 psi on these tires. 80 psi would probably push it right up to 6000 lbs.

ATC Crazy. My truck has 52 miles on it. was delivered last Friday w 30 miles on it, so no, have not driven it much. recovering from a hernia surgery this week, so not much driving right now. Of interest, I drove the fist day I got it, about 10 miles including 75 mph highway too. Rode like a 30,000 lb dump truck. My GF said check the tire pressures, so I did the next day. back tires at 105 psi. front had 100 psi. aired all the tires down per load/pressure tables. huge difference! lol. for front and rear weights, just used ford spec'd weights...when I get a chance, will visit the local truck scale for exact weights, both w and w/o planned loads.

Is this truck a dually? I haven't seen any SRW truck with a front axle PSI more than 60.

As far as the tires when the set the bead they exceed the pressure so they may be ok but I would ask the dealer.

HRTKD, it is a single wheel. regular cab XLT. regular cab because that is the shortest super duty truck. my garage is 245 inches long. truck is 232 inches long, so just barely fits. With regular cab option, highest trim available is XLT. Just me and my GF occasionally, so regular cab is acceptable for me.

Not sure why ford doesnt spec 80 psi in front. From what I have seen/experienced over the years, truck GAWR weights are typically dictated by maximum tire loads at max psi.

None of the SRW trucks (1 ton and below) use 80 PSI. That would be a nasty ride. I run mine at about 55/75 and find that acceptable. If I know I'm going to be hauling close to the cargo capacity limit then I'll bump it up to the max.

Unloaded, I'm between 45 - 50 PSI all around. I took it in for an inspection and the dealer set the tires per the door jamb and I did not enjoy the ride home!

Hope you recover quickly! As you see, I do have the SP springs, it wasn't my choice but the truck was spec'd out almost exactly the way I would have ordered it. I don't mind the ride at all, I run around 60psi all the way around, I think it gives me the best feel and ride for this setup. Also as mentioned, the SP springs make the truck very close to level. I'm happy with mine although I've not been in one without the heavy springs to compair.
