i own a 79 f250 automatic and i want to now what engine i'm lookin at

Hi Able and welcome to FTE
How many bolts are in the valvecovers? Is the thermostat housing in the intake manifold or on the front of the block.
Post your VIN number and I can tell you what came in it.

1976 was the last year of the 360 and 390 although i do have a 390 in my 1979 f150. A transplant of course.
