Emissions question - manifold studs

So, I have an 03 expedition, 198k, 4.6l. Check engine light on, too lean on passenger side: broken manifold studs. I know the right thing is to take manifold off and replace the studs. I have neither the time or space to do that right now, also not sure about giving my local Indy $1200+\- to do it, and jury is out about keeping the expedition going a lot longer. With all that in mind is there a trick or hack to fool the sensor into not sensing too lean, get the light off, pass emissions? Thoughts, opinions, suggestions are definitely welcome. Thanks

$1200 is steep.

i paid less than $700 to do the passenger side on my 2014. Local independent shop prices at $90/hr shop time.

I’d check around.

you can probably fool the oxygen sensor with a spark plug non-fouler, but it won’t pass emissions if they see it in there during a visual.

Thank you for your input. I might do some shopping around yet before I make a final decision.

Call around to exhaust/muffler shops.

Nope. The anti-fouler suggestion previously provided is misapplied. It isn't for use with the upstream sensors.

Exhaust leaks upstream of the upstream sensors can indeed cause "lean" codes if fresh air hits the sensors. Usually, vacuum leaks account for over 90% of the occurrences of those codes so you might want to rule that out first.

I was wondering about that. When the CEL originally came on it was reading a bad MAF sensor. I replaced that, and CEL still on, I had checked over vacuum and didn’t see anything cracked or loose, still CEL I’m, hence I ended up at the shop.
Yesterday, for kicks, since nothing else seemed to be working and I was going to be on the road all day with it, I cleared the stored codes, and patiently pounded on miles waiting for the CEL to come back on. 320 miles later, and no light. So tonight on my way home from work I had emissions test done and we are in the green. So, I still have broken studs and will need to navigate that, but I made my emissions test deadline so at least I won’t get a ticket. Thanks for always having ideas, thoughts, and input. Keep Fording on!
