Red face manifold stud help...

manifold stud help... i discovered at work the other morning that my manifold studs were wearing thin about 1/8" dia. by the time i got it home it had busted and an aweful hissing noise from my manifold.... this is on my drivers side. i looked at my passenger side manifold and its not to far behind my driver side.... can i replace just the stud? any helpful tips?? and do i need to take these off the motor?? how long will it take?... i do most my own work on my baby... but a little nervious on this one... i sweated bullets when i change my spark plugs...lol... also i read somewhere in this forum about replacing stock cats with jeep cats.. any discription as far as year of jeep type of motor? im hoping jeep cats are cheaper than fords replacement... ouch that would hurt the wallet... i cant go headers either due to the fact that funds are kinda low.... just bought my skyjacker lift kit....any help would be great. thanks guys...

I assume you mean the studs that hold the Y-pipe to the manifold and not the ones that hold the manifold to the head?
The ones that hold the pipe to the manifold can be drilled out. It's a bit of a pain to do.
I've drilled them out and just put regular bolts and nuts in place of the studs a couple times and it's worked ok.
