Does any aftermarket manufacturers off front locking diff for our Dana 60’s? I already switched out my hubs with dynatrac free spinning hubs which I highly recommend if anyone is interested. But I would like a true 4wd truck versus what what we have now which is a 3wd truck. Thanks PFA
An Eaton Trutrac works good in the front for normal on and off-road. It’s a helical gear limited slip. If you do hard core off-roaring where you might have a wheel in the air, then a locker may work better.

nothing hardcore just typical off roading, and mudding. There’s been times going through mud that a front locker would come in handy.
Are you looking for a selectable locker or an automatic locker? I think I’m going to go with an Eaton Truetrac or the Strange equivalent. Probably not for a while though...

Why would you highly recommend doing that? They have locking hubs to begin with, the only thing you are gaining is getting spindle bearings instead of unit bearings, but the unit bearings are long lasting and pretty easy to change if they do fail.

have you compared the parts side by side. The ford parts look like garbage compared to the dynatacs.

I think the 05+ unit bearings are very high quality. I have 300,000+ miles on the 2006 F-250 and original bearings. The tapered bearing size is much larger than the Dynatracs and they are hermetically sealed, so there's less maintenance that inherently comes with full floating spindles.
Dynatracs are great if you own a Ram product or want to upgrade the 99-2004 Super Duty, but in this poster's opinion, superfluous based on the current SD running gear.
To the original question, I would forgo the full locker and run a helical limited slip. Truetrac, Torsen and Strange(USA made) all offer one for the Dana 60.
Having played with Jeeps a little; ARB makes a great air selectable locker for the D60. Yukon gear probably makes one also.
OX locker makes one that is purely manual operated. And just FYI........for a full locker, selectable is the only kind I would run in the front. That way it is there when I WANT it; and open when I DON’T WANT it.
Good luck

doesn’t look like OX has one with 4.30 gears. Unless I’m reading it wrong but only for 4.10’s and down or 4.56’s.

Well that sucks......../but; wouldn’t the 4.30 carrier be the same as one of those? Surely it doesn’t have its own unique sized carrier for the 4.30. A little research should provide some info. If you can get that figured out and find one with the correct spline count, maybe check with some off road shops. They should be able to tell you what you need.
