No it's an auto locker, the OP didn't specify what kind of locker he wants. I have a Spartan lunchbox locker in the front of my Jeep and I have a Lock Right that I am getting ready to put in the front of my F250.

OK. Just be sure to let us all know how that works when your rig goes where it wants to instead of where you want it to. Good luck.

Not sure what you mean by that, I have had auto lockers in both axles of my Jeep for years and I have never had problems making it go where I want it to.

I can see it being a problem for people who run 4x4 all the time during winter season to deal with snow, even at highway speeds. I don’t think I’d have a problem with it, considering I see snow about once every three years.

Yeah in my jeep I only use 4x4 on snow covered backroads 25-30mph max I shift into 2wd going any quicker than that.

4.30s go in the same carrier as 4.10s.

If I have to explain that, you likely will not understand anyway.

I am interested in your experience as well, you make it sound like auto lockers are dangerous or will cause problems but that hasn't been my experience at all with any auto locker I own or have installed on other people's vehicles, never had an issue with any of them. My old Jeep XJ with 35s and auto lockers will out perform new Rubicons on 37-40" tires on the trail, the owners aren't very happy about it either when their rig they have spent 40-60K on gets outdone by a 20+ year old Jeep that I have maybe 6K in including the purchase price.

Auto lockers work fine........AS LONG AS YOU HAVE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE......... it is the time when you need to have the two steer tires rotating independently in order to maintain control. I have winched more than one rig out of a ditch that had the auto lockers and they lost control because of them.
Like most things that work great, until they don’t.
And the folks driving their 50K Rubbycon are probably afraid they are gonna scratch it also!
PS........here I am just having a little fun going through what they call the “channel-locks” In a place that is famous for being “Flatlands” and no hills!

The same could be said for selectable lockers and limited slips.

An auto locker unlocks and allows the outside tire to rotate faster in a turn while the inside tire is driving it.

Sounds more like operator error than the lockers fault.

I “the driver” have control of when locked and when not locked with a selectable.
We can discuss this endlessly.........so with that; why don’t we let the OP get back to what he is looking for.

I’m looking for something that will give me a “true” 4wd and not have the factory 3wd.
