Starting System Fault

Hello Everyone,
2016 F350 6.7, 22,300 miles. Stopped for fuel, pickup would not restart. ONE time received message "Starting System Fault". Removed battery cables for about 10 minutes, used both keys provided from dealer, do not have remote start. Removed #18 fuse from board. None of these produced any change, truck will sputter a few times but not start.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Thank you, John

check the fuel pump relay. Used or at least still is on my 2013 on the dash. Passenger side when you open the door. See if the relay has been tripped.

Hello Senix. Thank you for the reply. It seems I can push the relay. How would I tell if it has tripped? Pushing did not resolve any the issue.

Does the starter crank the engine? Or not? 2016 on original batteries might be a stretch for the batteries.

Hello 99150,

Thank you for the reply. Initially, I was skeptical of your suggestion. Regardless, towed by Ford Roadside to dealership who confirmed battery failure. All issues resolved by battery replacement.

Thank you again, John

Also, wanted to add, with all the technology in these vehicles it is amazing there is not a notification for low battery voltage...
