I have had an electrical problem with my 1998 F150. I belive the alarm/security system has a short in it. How can I remove/unplug the security system. I dont even know where it is. Thanks all

 

Most all brain boxes are mounted under the dash around the steering column. I assume this is aftermarket.

 

Not sure I bought the truck used. I am guessing it is. Ever since the electrical system went south Ive tried to locate the source of the short. And the only thing I can track down as being on the same circut would be the security system. I cant leave the battery connected because the truck goes for lack of a better term "Nuts". The truck tries to start on its own with no key in the ignition all the dash lights flash. I took out the GEM and checked it there is no sign of water damage, I removed the interior fuse box and cleaned it up. the truck was better when I replaced it. But now when I reconnect the battery the alarm system goes off so I have removed the fuse for the security system. I would much rather just take the alarm system out but I dont know what to look for or even where to look....
