On the way home yesterday, my fuelpump went out. I can tell because my clear filter after the pump was empty. Hit the side of the road and stopped.
So I found a pop can and filled it with fuel and dumped it into that brass tube sticking out of the carter YFA to fill the bowl. This would get me about 100yrds each time. I made it home after doing this about 10 times. ha.
Anyways, I've seen guys run a fuel can from the cab, and tube that runs to the carb to be able to get someplace. What would that look like as far as tube, location of tube, etc?
Has anyone here had to drive with a dead fuelpump?
Why not just hook the electric pump inline with the mechanical pump and give it a separate switch. Someone posted a pic of a dash that had a momentary push button switch for priming a carb on a vehicle that sat a lot
I'm not sure. It's something I've been wanting to check out.I don't drive my '64 a lot and the summer heat will often evaporate all the gas out of the carb.
