I'm thinking of putting a 2002 small block and 4 speed auto in my 66 .can anyone tell me how to get the speedometer to work as the transmission has electronic output for speedo thanks
Are you using the 02 ECM / PCM to run the motor & trans?
What you using for gauges, them from the 02 grafted into the dash of your truck?
IIRC the ECM / PCM gets its reading from the rear axel tone ring think on the R&P but not sure.
If so and you don't swap in the rear axle for this from the 02 think some have used a sensor that reads off the drive shaft.
You stick on a reflective tape and the "eye" sees this and sends the signal to the ECM / PCM to make everything work.
Now I don't know where I seen this posted and if it will give the right reading or not.
If not for needing it to run the motor / trans I would go with an after market GPS speedo like from SpeedHut gauges

Are you talking about a Windsor small block? What engine and trans are you looking at. There was no Ford (Windsor) small block in 2002. If your'e looking at using a 4R70W trans you may be able to put on an early tailshaft from an AOD that has the mechanical drive. Would need to research that. In any case you can use one of these to drive your mechanical speedo from a newer computer controlled trans. https://www.dakotadigital.com/index....rod/prd886.htm
