I just had a 2021 F350 CCLB 6.7 as a loaner, it was optioned with the derate as most of them the dealers order are. There was no hydroboost, it was vacuum assist.
2021 f350 7.3 SCLB SRW 11,800 gvwr has hydro. My guess is those with greater then a 26001 lb gcvwr because that is CDL territory. My gcvwr is 27500.
Most websites however say that lack of good vacuum pressure (diesel and high performance) needs hydro. The 7.3 can be considered high performance.
A lot of diesels have used a vacuum pump to run things like HVAC controls, hubs, and the brake booster. A lot of vans and cars will use hydroboost because there is a lack of room for a vacuum booster on the firewall.
A popular swap for the OBS Fords is to use the hydroboost from the AWD Chevy Astro van...

But this doesn't answer the OP....I have enough space under my hood to a full size Dyson vacuum cleaner!! My guess still is combined vehicle weight of over 26000. All of the examples point to this.
To bump the thread, I have a 2024 F350 6.7 HO with 12,0000# gvwr and I Have what looks like the vac-boost? I thought with my gvwr, I should have hydro-boost? Did the look change on the 23+ trucks or do I indeed have the vac boost?

Looks like the vacuum booster on my truck. Don’t worry though, you’ll be able to stop just fine.
