so Pappy, you doing power brakes ?? here's what I did with mine. I've since changed out the booster to something prettier but the mounting is the same
info is in two different articles so here's both
sorry, it's something FTE is doing with the articles on FTZ. don't open it from here, go to that site and read it., or right click on the link and choose "open a new window"
I moved my to the firewall. I used the kit from CPP. One thing Idid. I measured as the instructions said, but then wanted to double check, so I mounted the pedal bracket on the inside to the dash and positioned the pedal where I wanted it and then marked from the inside. And drilled/cut my hole. I did have my steering column out at the time.
I figured this was a more precise fit, and it was off a bit from where I measured.
either way, it went well and like the fit.
Used a Superduty hydroboost and an OBS brake pedal assembly inside on my '53 COE. Once I get the seats in and I am happy with the position of the steering wheel I'll fix the floor. I sandwiched a 1/8" plate between the booster and the pedals to strengthen the firewall. It will have braces welded to it to triangulate it and it should be plenty strong.
