Shaking,Running Rough

(Sorry for the long post, it's been awhile!)
4th 7.3L I've owned and never ran into this issue before. I recently bought a 2wd RCLB as a project truck. It has 283,xxx miles. A few days after I brought it home I was merging onto the highway near my house and accelerated a little quicker than normal. When the truck reached approx. 60mph I started to feel a shudder in the engine and hesitation almost like something was holding it back.
I also noticed the engine sounded completely different. My rpms were still high so I let off and the trans shifted like normal. The shaking/shudder continued during the shift. 60-65mph was as fast as I could go. So I let off and pulled over, I noticed it was idling very rough. I popped the hood, just to see if there was any visible issues, there wasn't I left it idling for 3-5mins while it was sitting there I could hear the idle start clearing up. I wasn't very far from my destination so I put it in drive and continued on. I did notice that I could still feel the shudder if I accelerated more than a typical driving amount.
I know the possibilites(at least I think I do), UVCH, hpop, fuel pump, but are there any of the symptoms that would sway you guys one way or the other as far as suggestions?

I'd suggest starting with a scan for codes. Then probably have a look at the fuel filter and check fuel pressure.

Ok, I omitted a few things in the original post for the sake of being wordy
I did not throw any SES lights, I did scan it anyway just to see if there were any soft codes but there weren't any.
I haven't run AE on it yet.(Don't have it, but after over 10 years with these trucks it may be time!)
I pulled the fuel filter and changed it, even though it was clean.
I have not checked the fuel pressure yet.

My first thought was the in tank fuel screens. Fuel pressure check would be a good place to start in my opinion. SSJ has a simple method of using the fuel drain port with a hose and gauge.

I appreciate the input guys, I will be checking all things fuel related this evening after work. I bought it to be a RCSB project truck on down the road, I just wasn't planning on digging in under the hood yet.

My line of thought has been that when I stand on the skinny pedal the fuel pump is not able to keep up, therefor it is starving itself. However my hang up with that is why would it clear up after a few short minutes.

What is the fuel level when the problem occurs? A fuel pressure gauge is a very useful tool, you may want to consider installing one.

Fuel was just below half when it did it the first time. So I filled it up and the problem continued.
Sorry it's been a few days, and I haven't touched the truck. Work happens!!!

Soooo here we are again, I pulled the UVCH on both sides and made sure that they were connected as they should be. I have really been trying to not just throw money at it to fix it. I have ALOT more time and tools that need to get dirty than I do money! SO last night I dropped the tank (on my chest!) Guess what I find, The pickup foot is broken and laying in the bottom! I haven't pulled the unit apart to check the screens yet. But I fully expect to find them in less than favorable condition! Now here comes your guys part....... Do you think that with the foot being off and the screens possibly being trashed it would be what has been causing my issues?
I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that it happens at around 60mph consistently. Obviously I am going to rectify this situation but should I go ahead and check the while I am under there?

The Hutch mod is simple and easy. I would recommend SkySkiJason’s method (which I learned about after I did a different way).
Simple cheap filter. Simple cheap no pickup foot.
Below is a link. There are a few more write ups in the tech folder sticky at the top of the forum. Be sure to do the Harpoon mod while in there.

Hutch and Harpoon mods complete!! Tank reinstalled, inline filter complete! (ThanksSSJ) I was completely surprised how much sticky goo came out of the mixing chamber! ANd I could see it packed inside the cartridges,
When I finished buttoning everything else up I took it for the required test drive. Wow I am completely surprised at how much of a difference it has made in how the truck drives. Definitely not like I expected for a 283,xxx mile truck. It quickly reminded me why I returned to the 7.3L world!!!
Thanks for the help fellas!!

The "plan" is to drive it for a little while and collect the parts and pieces to lower and shorten it. As well as redo the interior. 3" 6" drop C Notched and shortened to 121.5" WB and sprayed Tru Blue pearl or Dark Midnight Pearl
with black leather interior. It will be an ongoing project.(as funds allow!)
