Overfilled transmission

Is there any way to siphon out some fluid if it gets overfilled?
Asking for a friend...

Or.. I would just clean the drain plug first real good and loosen, but don't remove the plug and drain it into a oil catch pan..

you can also hold the plug tight...let a little out....will be messy but gets the job done
