Before the beratement starts. (and it will, even if I have to do it myself!) I have one question,,, WHY? No, I have never seen this done (nor do I hope ever to). I will allow the fact that this is what you want, doesn't mean we won't help. But the reasons for such a swap? I could possibly see putting a wagon on a F-350 chassis,,, but the other way around??? I'm not postive in the least, but I would lay money down that all the mounts would have to be fabricated/redrilled. What F-Series is the Supercab? The bed too? Long bed, short? Need alot more info than that, Lucas, before we can even begin to give educated guesses
I didnt wont to upset you . I have a 78 4 door f250 on 36s & another 79 4 door I am bulding a roll back truck hauler out of . I wont to build a drag truck . I am not into lowriders that much I just think it would be a faster rig with a lower stance. I am sure I coud do it I just wasnt sure what people would think of it I have never seen a truck that model slamed. Thanks for your input.
If you just want to slam it, it might make more sense to use drop I-beams in the front and a 4-link with a notched frame in the back. Use the existing frame and you have one (ha) less hassle to worry about. (You won't have to make all the brackets to hang the body on another frame.)
me, personally, if you are wanting to just lower to drag race, it would be cheaper and easier to use the drop I-beams ($450, roughly), 2 inch drop springs ($99), then on the back, take a leaf spring out, use the 2 inch drop hangers and 2 inch drop shackles for about $150 total.
I drive with the dropped Ibeams, airbags with a cantilever 4 link on the back. (the truck used to hop and skip on peel outs before the drop).
On the rear, you can do a spring under conversion, either with a flip kit or just welding new spring perches on. If you need it lower, you can flip the hangers or use shackles. I'd stay way from the blocks if you're gonna be racing, the wheel hop would be a bitch.
If you really want to get fancy, section in the LTD front clip. That will give you approx 6" of suspension drop. Plus it will move the motor up 1.5" and back 1" from the stock location. Then just do a flip kit in the rear.
