Pre-existing damage to left lower bedside. I roughed the basic shape out today in about 45 minutes...
Lots more ironing out with hammer and dolly is needed. I may also shrink a couple of places, but i think its salvageable...
Someone tried to straighten it and did it wrong Basic shape restored Lower panel 90°edge restored View from rear View from underneath the lower trailing edge
I've been busy with band/music projects, so i haven't completed this repair just yet. Yesterday, I spent a little more time smoothing out the panel, including some low-temperature shrinking, to get it as straight as possible before applying filler...
Getting the radius around the wheel arch back into shape... I think its just about ready for filler now...
Got rid of those ridiculous, fake center caps while I was at it...
Taking a step back to how it looked when i bought it... How it looks after first coat of primer today... The back side of the damaged panel shows lots of hammer and dolly work.
The lower bed side panel really should have been replaced. I was able to save it, but it would have taken less time to cut it off and weld on a patch panel...
Excellent work on the repairs. Gotta love a person who's attention to detail is as **** as mine. Body work is the one thing I have never jumped in to (thankfully never needing to).
I have to admit the color grabs me.....in a good way.
