Fellas! I've just completed installing my Smittybilt Outand bumper guard. The instructions were cryptic, the photos were completely unable to be seen and there's not a final photo so you can make sure it's on right. I'm so displeased with the way the thing looks on my truck! GRRRR. They'll never get my money again.
Wow. Im sorry to hear that. I have been contemplating buying a set of Smitty nerf bars. Why does it look so bad on youre truck? Anyway to post a pic of it? You should definatley give them a call tomorrow and tell them whats up!
It's looks like it's too low and doesn't really fit the contour of the bumper like I thought it would. It's functional (it wasn't really for looks) after some jury rigging on my part but why pay a couple hundred bucks for something that makes your rig look wacky.
Definitly call them and explain your frustrations!I have their nerf bars and love 'em.They have been on 4 years and are just starting to show a little rust.Probably from times I've hit obstacles off-roading, and the salt/sand environment I'm in almost weekly,
beachbuggying.Rich, there's a good pic of mine in my gallery.
BrokenMarine- I'm not trying to add insult to injury, but I'd send it back to the company. It looks like you had to do a lot of jury rigging to get it to work.
If you're not thrilled with it, send it back, because you'll just end up hating it a month down the road.
The little prongs coming off of the top of it, shouldnt they be sitting on top of the bumper? Thats kind of what it looks like to me, not being pressed into that black trim piece. Im just guessing here. Could they have sent you one for a 1996? It appears to be the incorrect contour. I would definatley give them a call!
