1990 IAC Valve removed?
1990 IAC Valve removed?
So... The truck cuts out when it first starts or when i put it in gear without giving it a little throttle.
When the mechanic did the 5.0 engine rebuild back 10 years ago he decided to completely cut the harness off the IAC Valve for some reason.
I'm vaguely recalling everything that was done but I remember a smog pump delete and a 351 Cam in the 302 but would that IAC be deleted for that reason?
Anyone know what harness needs to be ordered to replace it?
So far everything advance and oreily's offers isn't even remotely close.

Nobody is going to have a new wiring harness available including Ford. I suspect the "mechanic" snipped the wires close the wiring loom. Start looking for dangling wires then source an IAC connector and pigtail from a junk yard. Then go back and reset the throttle stop screw to where it's supposed to be.
Both of these websites have several connector and pigtail assemblies available for these older trucks, including the IAC valve-

picowiring.com - the front page says 2016 but the catalog is current - look in the right column for the “single thru eleven” pigtails on pages 36-40

depending on the cam that was put in, he may have removed the IAC because it was hunting idle, and never would settled down, do you know what rpm it idles at now?
