I have three questions

First of all i have a 99 2WD 3L V6 extended cab
For starters i used to be 1000% Chevy guy but now, i am more lienient towards all manufactures, belive it or not even dodge! Well Anyway here it goes:

1. How would i lubricate my very squeaky leaf springs, because first of all, it is very annoying secondly hunting season is right around the corner and silence is golden.

2. Second question; How would i adjust my headlights that dont have the little star screw adjuster because that is also annoying not only to me but to other drivers because i am currently running hyper white lights and seem to blind all those i drive behind.

3. Would anyone know whats wrong with the speed control when the indicator is on but it will not keep the speed.

Okay so fourth question
Who thinks the overdrive button is cool? because it kicks especially when driving at moderate speeds and you need that extra kick.

Welcome to FTE!

1,2,&3 I don't know.

4. Overdrive shouldn't really give you a kick, it just allows you to go into a very low ratio gear for highway cruising.

psksam2 hitting the overdrive button will give u a boost if ur going highway speed. it will take you out of overdrive and into forth, alowing you to accelerate. i have a manual, but when i'm driving my dad's auto f-150 i always use the button when there's a hill or need to pass someone

Ah, I see. Yes, hitting the button to take it out of overdrive would give you a better ratio for passing/hills/etc. I was thinking the other way. Sorry, both my vehicles are five speeds, and it's been a while since I had one of those autos.

#1 I would use graphite since it won't attract dirt, keep it away from the brakes.

#2 They have them on the back of the lights, top screw on the out board and there should only be one in board

# 3 make sure the cable is adjusted properly and run the test below, otherwise you will need a scanner to do more.

Self-Test Diagnostics

WARNING:
This test is a key on engine off (KOEO) test only that is conducted in park only with emergency brake fully engaged.

l Enter Self-Test Diagnostics by depressing the speed control OFF switch while turning the ignition key ON, making sure the engine does not start and is not running. The speed control indicator lamp on the instrument panel will flash once to indicate that the speed control module entered the diagnostic mode. Five additional flashes at this point indicate a defective speed control servo. Release the OFF switch.

l Note:
If the ON switch is not pressed within five seconds after entering diagnostic mode, the module times out and the procedure must be started over.

Press the remaining switches in this sequence: ON, RSM (resume), CST (coast) and SET/ACCEL.

l The speed control indicator lamp will flash as each switch is pressed. Press each switch in the sequence immediately after the light goes out for the previous switch.

l A lamp flash with the last button (SET/ACCEL) indicates that the STATIC test passed. If the lamp does not flash with the last button and there are no additional flashes of the lamp, the switch is defective. If the lamp does not flash with the last button, and the additional flashes occur, follow the chart below the trouble codes:

— 2 flashes-Brake pedal position (BPP) switch is defective, circuit is defective, or brake pedal is applied; clutch pedal position (CPP) switch is defective, circuit is defective, or clutch pedal is applied.

— 3 flashes-Brake deactivation switch is open or circuit is defective.

l Immediately after the static test has passed, the speed control servo will then carry out a dynamic test automatically by actuating the throttle lever from 1 mm to 10 mm of travel from the idle position. During the dynamic throttle pull, observe throttle movement to witness any binding or sticking of the actuator cable, verify the correct connection of the actuator cable to the throttle lever, and make sure the throttle returns back to the idle position. If incorrect connection and/or binding or sticking of actuator is observed, go to the Symptom Chart.

l Return the ignition switch to the OFF position and proceed to the Symptom Chart.
