I’ve got a ‘99 E150 with an S710A rear end. I opened it up and found one of the spider gears seized on the cross shaft. This, I assume, then caused the pin bolt to shear. The shaft turns smoothly in the carrier but it’s putting up a fight coming out. I’m not sure what I’ll find when I finally get the shaft out. I am cautiously optimistic that it won’t be completely boogered, but also prepared to swap in another rear end.
This brings me to the numbers. Say a 2001 model has an S711D. Anyone know the what the updates were? Will a newer one go in without fitment issues? Wasn’t sure if there was any significant external or mounting differences or if the ABS is different etc? Basically, I just want to pick some brains on what’s the earliest or latest model year rear end I can swap in.
