Could the FICM only affect three out of the four injectors on that side? Is there any other testing I could do to determine if it is the ficm or what testing could I do the injectors to see if they are the problem?

My advice, follow the advice given. At some point the people who are helping will get tired of having their advice questioned and will stop offering it. I'm new enough here that it doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't expect the really experienced guys with this engine to spend time convincing you to believe them. your mileage may vary

not trying to question anyone's advice just trying to learn a thing or two incase I have future problems that way I might know where to start diagnosing, thanks for the heads up and thanks everyone for the advice

Another option is to go to a Ford dealer with diesel experience and have them run diagnostics/troubleshooting. Give you a print out of engine tests and recommendations.
May be worth a one time expense.
