Reverse slipping after Transgo Tugger install on 4r100
Hello I need some help! Just installed a transgo tugger kit in my 4r100 and reverse is slipping. All the forward gears work great they do not slip and hold strong. Truck shifts good after kit installed. In idle my line pressure at test port are about 62 psi for park, neutral, D, 2, 1. Reverse starts about 30 psi and goes up from there but doesn't go above 60 psi. All the other gears get an instant 62 psi in gears, no delay. I didn't have a problem with reverse before the kit was installed. I did remove the trans to do the pump mods and put in Max Life synthetic fluid and also installed 6.0 cooler and replaced the magnefine inline filter. I have checked the torque on the valve bodies for 80 in lbs and rechecked all the transgo mods. I am at loss what to do and hope someone with more smarts on these transmissions can help.

Yes I did. It was snap ring in the pump that didn’t seat properly and caused a leak so wasn’t building enough pressure for reverse. Hope this helps you. The bad news if you have the same problem you have to remove the transmission again to get to it. I ended up rebuilding it since I had it out. Working great for thousands miles now.
